The Dherynia Folkloric Museum is a beautiful venue for your wedding. It is especially interesting to have your wedding ceremony in a traditional Cypriot house (which incidentally has been turned into a museum). The museum gives a glimpse of life in Cyprus in a previous era, with carvings, pottery and hand-woven cloth. There is also a large, traditional "wedding bed" in brass with lace curtains. The curtains were traditionally sewn by giggling, unmarried girls to illustrate the purity of the newly weds.
This venue is very popular. The ceremony is performed by a Marriage Officer and is a real must for those who want a romantic civil ceremony with a difference!
